Shipping Update: Dungeon Sets & Other Orders

Just to let everyone know, I let many of the orders accumulate and will be shipping all of them between Monday and Wednesday of next week.  This rather than making run after run to the Post Office.  There were a lot of orders too, and it has kept me pretty busy.  :)

So, get ready for some playing and reading while munching on your "turkey specials".

Hmm... unfortunately I have not received my copies yet. Nor have I received an e-mail telling me that they have been shipped. I would like to know what is going on. I'm really looking forward to getting my Dungeon Sets.

As I wait to accumulate orders and am a one-man show, and as orders are signed, numbered, packed individually, and hand addressed, etc,the process is normally longer than other outfits who ship out orders like pancakes, unsigned and pre-shrink wrapped and meted out mostly through POD outfits or distributors. People have started receiving their orders. This is a small publishing SPECIALTY outfit, not a large company with many personnel. For those unfamiliar with this company's track record, we have delivered every order to date without fail, even with damaged and missing copies which we replace WITHOUT question.

Patience is a virtue here.

I understand, it's just that I believe that the quality of the products will be so great that I am anxious to get my hands on it.

Considering the handling time involved in a one-man operation why not offer Media Mail shipping? When one pays for Priority Mail one also expects "priority handling." With the handling time being so variable, I'd prefer to save five bucks with Media Mail and acknowledge that I'm in for a wait. The difference between a 30-day wait and 34-day wait loses significance. Also, since you are using Priority Mail, there's no need to make multiple trips to the post office - find a scale, print labels online and schedule pick ups for free.

Media mail was abandoned by PPP when the PO failed to deliver 10% of all orders and damaged 20% of those that were delivered. Additionally, they failed to deliver most media mail in a 30 day period, and waits of up to 50-60 days were not uncommon. The resulting loss of dollars to PPP over two drives was in excess of 1,000 USD.

The mail on our end was slowed only slightly (by one week) due to schedules and the holiday. Priority and first class normally take two days to reach most parts of the US and a mailing schedule of 2-4 weeks is very common among small and specialty presses as well, unless, as I have noted, if you are instead mailing from a POD distributor and not signing and numbering limited editions like PPP does.
