"Ten feet, twenty feet, thirty feet south. Passage turns east and west. Which way do you go?" "We go South." Stupefied look and momentary pause. "Okay. Bump, bump, bump." -E. Gary Gygax to adventurers in Greyhawk Castle, circa 1972 You have now entered the realm of the LORD OF THE GREEN DRAGONS -- a "Classic Gaming" blog.
How did gamers become so scruffy?
Thanks for the great photo. :D
I'm pretty sure society got scruffy.
I knew two of those guys. Somewhat.

They seem like they were solid individuals.
@LotGD: That's an awesome link!
@Lady T: It does seem like gaming was a 'gentlemen's pastime' in days of yore...
--And to quote H. G. Wells:

@Lady T: Well put!
Great picture indeed. Curiously enough, it looks quite a lot like me and my friends just a few years back. No ties, and somewhat wider waistline. :)
I would love to hear a lot more about all that Napoleonic campaign stuff Dave (the second) was running before Blackmoor. Very interesting teasers I have heard so far.
Fantastic! Thank you so much for sharing this. Do you have any idea when this might be from?
Ah, nevermind the link says 1966
